A New experience for a Tree in Autumn, Free Verse |
Hey, guys! Hello! Where did everybody go? The light last night went out, but now I am confused. When I woke up yesterday, I found green fields and sheep. Today, well I don't know, I guess, nothing. I'm hearing things too, well sheep to be precise, They aren't there, really, they're not It was so windy I have no leaves, They've vanished with the sheep. I can, at least, see the birds until they fly away Then, like fairy dust, they too disappear. I'm also talking to myself; I usually talk to the sheep But, they've gone, or have they? Maybe someone moved me in the night, What else is the answer; it's the sheep, I've been stolen by sheep, save me take me back. I've been tree-napped, or sheep-napped, not entirely sure. Hey! Look in the sky, a shiny spot getting bigger. We're being invaded; the sheep are taking me away... Or, maybe my mind's on overdrive The squirrel's looking at me funny. I look back at the quirky quizzical squirrel, I am clever; well maybe, I live next to an oak tree. I wonder! Maybe it wasn't the sheep after all, Something I remember, Mist! Panic over! |
