A poem about the world around us falling away and what remains is what we now live. |
-Gone Is The World - by Keaton Foster Gone Is the world Where did it go I just don’t know I don’t pretend To understand How everything Could just disappear But it was once here And no longer it is Was it God above Laying it all to waste Or did the darkness below Have some kind of a role Did both cross the divide Did they join forces Against the likes of us Or was this sacred place Taken away because of what Was done by us alone Is our chance over Has the experiment That is humankind ended And if so please tell us What will come next Lend us clue with regard To what to expect Now that there is nothing left Gone Is the world The one once known The home that we Should have done more To find a way to protect Will there be another A new day after this The darkest one possible Or will the sun fall For a final time In some way will we be fine Or are we forever doomed By all that we’ve done Or failed to do Fearfully and truthfully I just don’t understand Long sine has everything Hit the fan What we now see How we have come to feel All of it an incurable disease That in silence many do suffer I’m just a solitary man But unlike most Increasingly I’m becoming well aware That no longer is it there What remains What we have now All of it just a charade Just a sickening game To delay the reality Of all that has been done By who and because of why We just won’t know I’m not trying to spread fear I’m just trying to get others To see what to me In becoming ever so clear Gone Is the world Where did it go Maybe we just won’t Ever really know… Gone Is The World Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2016. |
