An indictment. The first chapter of a series. |
Jeremiah 23:21 NASB “I did not send these prophets, But they ran. I did not speak to them, But they prophesied. Jeremiah 23:34 NASB Then as for the prophet or the priest or the people who say, ‘The oracle of the Lord,’ I will bring punishment upon that man and his household. The Lord has always reserved his harshest words for the religious hypocrites. He reaches out to sinners with kindness and mercy but to the self-righteous and the proud, he speaks with venom. John 9:41 NASB Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, ‘We see,’ your sin remains. Luke 19:10 NASB For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 1:52 NASB “He has brought down rulers from their thrones, And has exalted those who were humble. Many people who call themselves Christians have never even read the Bible. Many who call themselves Christians, God will reject. He will cast them out of His kingdom. Matthew 7:22-23 NASB Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ Words don't matter. Actions matter. Anyone can call himself a bird but that doesn't mean he can fly. Anyone can call himself a Christian but that means nothing. Matthew 7:16-17 NASB You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. Galatians 5:22-23 NASB But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Anyone who calls himself a Christian but does not produce the fruit of love, is not a Christian. Anyone who calls himself a Christian but stirs up hate is not a Christian. The Westboro Baptists must repent of their wicked ways. They are far more deserving of Hellfire than any homosexual. Jesus said to the religious hypocrites, Matthew 21:31b NASB Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the kingdom of God before you. |
