The accident

We were rushing to a funeral at down south
and took the highway route there
"don't exceed the speed limit"
It was my wife telling

The journey would take about one hour
I was travelling at high speed
but careful because of the darkness
my two sons were watching the passing scenery

There was a bend to the right side ahead
suddenly I saw a vehicle's head lights
trying to overtake me in this late evening
at lightning speed, like a bullet passing

I let him go past me
he could not take the bend at that speed
crashed at the barrier and went over to other side
and stopped a long way from the road

We stopped the vehicle, rushed to the crash site
people were gathering, pulling injured outside
there were four injured persons in it
one of them was my own brother
