Introduction

Chapter One

Ellen stood at the place and looked around her. There were cars lined on the street, boys skating and people walking. Even though the sun had set long ago, Ellen could still make out posters on walls and light posts.

Okay, she was here now where are the others? She wouldn't even know them if they walked past her unless they were looking directly at her. She turned to see if there was anyone looking at her, and saw a blonde woman dressed in white versace shirt and knee length denim. She was wearing sunglasses but it was obvious she was looking at Ellen. Is it one of the girls? Ellen frowned and appraised her tensely. She was gorgeous, way gorgeous than Ellen with her wavy brown hair and thick eyebrows. Ellen hoped to God that wasn't one of the girls she had to compete with. There is no way she could win against that.

The blonde started making her way across the street towards her and Ellen looked away and grip the strap of her hand bag tightly.

"Are you Ellen? "The blonde asked. Ellen almost wanted to ignore her but there was no use picking a fight yet. She turned and tried to smile.

"Yes, and you are? "

"Just as I thought,"the woman gave a small laugh that Ellen thought to be mocking. She took off her sunglasses and Ellen met her striking electric blue eyes with a start. This woman was really beautiful, damn it all.

"I never expected much but... "she gave Ellen's body a slow once over and laughed again. Feeling insulted Ellen was not about to get trampled on that easily.

"What do you mean by that? "She snapped.

"God are we fighting already? "Ellen turned to see a gorgeous red head step out of a Jeep. She would give the blonde a run for her money with looks alone but that Scottish accent was simply amazing. Ellen felt like fainting then and there. Was she really the only plain girl Mark had ever been with?

"And you must be Elizabeth, "the Blondie said.
"Call me Lizzy. "

The two gorgeous women stared each other down and Ellen could have vanished or turned to dust for all they cared.

"Um, you haven't introduced yourself yet, "she took care not to call her Blondie although it was a close thing.

Electric blue eyes turned on her and she said:
"I thought that would be obvious by now but if I must then call me Rue. "

"So we meet. "Elizabeth said smiling with deep red lips.

Ellen was the one who found a restaurant for them to seat but by the looks Rue and Elizabeth gave the place they obviously had problems with her choice. Ellen had chosen the place because it looked comfortable and she was sure she could afford whatever she chose to buy there. If she had left the choosing to these women who looked like they were swimming in money and luxury she was sure her pockets would be crying at the end of the day. She'd already done enough crying on her own, she didn't need that as well.

Ellen sat comfortably on the chair next to the window and noticed Rue eying her. What, she thought, a little irritated. Rue has been acting all high and mighty since they met and Ellen wasn't feeling very amicable towards her.

"Do you want something? "She finally asked.

"No, it's just that I like to seat near the window, "she said.
Ellen furrowed her brows, deciding to ignore her. It's not like she was going to get up for her.
"Mark used to leave it for me, "Rue continued.

The shock Ellen felt seemed to reflect on Elizabeth's face. She looked at Rue again, it was only then she realized that Rue has a real poker face. Ellen couldn't guess what Rue was thinking. Is the fight on then, were they going to drop this stupid act of dignity and start tearing at each other's hair? For one moment Ellen thought Elizabeth was about to leap at Rue from across the table but she patted the napkin in front of her and smiled.

"Now now, no point trying to act superior to the two of us. No matter what you think, it is a clear fact that Mark had been playing all three of us. "

"Or more. "Ellen muttered. It's not like she needed any confirmation but hearing Elizabeth say it out loud felt like a slap in the face. Nothing like finding the names of different girls Mark had been with. Or finding out that he'd been lying to her. This was one of the women that Mark was cheating on her with or it might be the other way around but looking at Elizabeth, Ellen was sure she was the one. Who would leave such a gorgeous woman for someone like her.
