-In A Land Of Sheep, Fear Only The Wolf by Keaton Foster Do you hear it Out there Observable Is such distance Do you see The madness To you is it clear Or are you like most Afraid to truly see Often prepared To disbelieve Beyond what’s real Are you blind By choice alone If so let me assure you Without question There are monsters Creatures in this world One’s that wish you harm Beast that prey upon All that makes us human I understand this well Because unlike most I have known them And I have felt them Back when I was a child My broken father Spoke to me In the deepest Of darkness He said My sickly son The poorest of child Listen quite well In a land of sheep Fear only the wolf At first Like any naïve child I misunderstood I was not sure Of what he meant But in time It was made very clear There are victims And there are victimizers One does not exist With the other The blood of some Must be spilt To feed the appetites Of the so very angry few Wise words From a man That was all beast All horrific creature In time Long after I grew Beyond control I myself Went from a sheep To the most Cunning of predator And when I was ready I took his life But before he died Before I beat him to death With these very hands He looked up at me said My defenseless child The light of all darkness What of me have you done What have you become Looking down Upon his broken And battered body Looking down Upon what I’d done Softly I replied In a land of sheep Fear only the wolf… In A Land Of Sheep, Fear Only The Wolf Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2016. |
