A trippy poem about a man that donates his eyes to science before his time is done. |
-Sedative Eyes- by Keaton Foster Upon The desk Oh the heck Sedative eyes Looking back Ripped From my skull Torn From their sockets I was assured I wouldn’t need them All connections Severed Oh the hell They have seen No one should Want them But they did My donation To science While I’m alive I’m numb A pipeline of drugs Floods my veins I feel nothing Same as before Chained to my bed Left for dead They’ll be surprised When I wake up When I tell them A may be blind But I can still see When one sense Is set free The others Get in line Pulling the weight Left behind Carrying the load Of the burden sown Sedative eyes Find a new home In a person Much more deserving Forget the terror Replace the images Of all that has been done Come to know beauty Begin to see with clarity I’ll be fine without you I’ll survive Despite their wishes I’ll carry on The war will wage As the darkness invades But I’ll find a new way Without you And your method of sight I’ll see the world around Via memories and sound Upon The desk Oh the heck Sedative eyes Looking back Ripped From my skull Torn From their sockets I was assured I wouldn’t need them I signed on the line Gave them permission Upon my death Take all that you wish But here I am blind And very much alive… Sedative Eyes Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2015. |
