Watlin found a paper with some writing on it in the SpaceCar he got from his dead father.

A Journey Through Space

“What is that?” Waltin walked around an old, but in mint condition, SpaceCar – looking it over from all sides.

“It’s what your father wanted you to have after his death.” Nelum stayed with Waltin as he looked over his SpaceCar.

“I haven’t seen my father in nearly thirty years. And this is what he gives me in return after he dies.” Waltin tried to look into the old relic. “How old is this anyway?”

“That SpaceCar is almost sixty years old.” Nelum had to look at some papers before he said that. “it’s been a long time but don’t you remember seeing it before?”

“There’s a lot of things my father kept from my mother and me. That’s one of the reasons why we left him when I was ten.” Waltin knocked on the non-existent window. “What am I supposed to do with this?”

“Anything you want to do with it. It’s yours now.” Nelum started walking away.

“Does it even function anymore? How do I get into it? Or can I get into it?” Waltin pointed his finger at the side door.

Nelum walked up and pointed his finger at the door too. And it disappeared. “You saw where I put my finger. Now you know how to get into your SpaceCar.”

Waltin didn’t see Nelum leave. He climbed into the SpaceCar and started looking around. While trying to figure out how to use that SpaceCar he found it: Some paper with writing on it.

The SpaceCar traveled through Space. “What are we doing.”

“I don’t know for sure myself.” Waltin looked over at his Lover, Liela, without taking his eyes off the front window. “It’s the writing a found on that paper. It said I wasn’t alone in the Universe after all.”

“What does that mean? Does that mean you have family out there? Is that where we are headed?” Liela kept looking out the front viewport.

“My father didn’t say. He only said where to start.” Waltin banked the SpaceCar to his right.

A few days later they landed on Evona. It looked a lot like their home planet of Proth. They landed on a street a few streets shy of their destination: And old house.

“I don’t think anyone has lived here in decades.” Liela and Waltin was looking around that old house.

“How am I going to find anything here? Waltin entered a large room with a lot of books. “Maybe one of these can help me.”

<<<<<>>>>>

Waltin didn’t find anything in the Reading Room. But Liela did upstairs in one of the Sleeping Rooms. It was a Thought Book written by a little girl. That’s why they were now on the planet of Keyni.

“Are you sure this is the place?” Waltin stared at another old house.

“According to the writing in the Thought Book I found it is.” Liela was looking at that Thought Book.

Just then a female, Jalli, and a young couple came out of that house. Jalli was talking to the couple. “I told you the last owners kept the place in perfect condition. The only reason why they had to give it up is because the father got another job off-world.”

<<<<<>>>>>

Jalli told Waltin and Liela all about the family who used to live in that house after the couple left – without buying it. The family consisted of a father, a mother and a full grown son. Now Waltin and Liela were headed for the planet of Yeenah.

The only problem was it was a long journey to Yeenah. It was going to take them six weeks to get there. Luckily, for them they had plenty of food and fuel for their journey. The SpaceCar didn’t look very big. But it had a large back to it that could keep two, maybe even three, people very comfortably. It even had a couple of Sleeping Units back there.

For the next six weeks Waltin and Liela spent a lot of time back here. Once the destination got set the SpaceCar could sail through Space on its own. Waltin and Liela just had to adjust it a few times because of something that got in their way.

After six very long feeling weeks they finally got to Yeenah. But they were too late again.

“How can someone lose their job after only a few months?” Waltin looked very mad.

“What gets me is that they relocated here from Keyni for that job.” Liela didn’t look mad. She looked scared.

Waltin and Liela were standing in front of what used to be the house that Walter’s brother once lived in. Which was now nothing but ash.

“What now? How am I going to find my brother now?” That’s why Waltin was so mad. “I came all this way for nothing.”

<<<<<>>>>>

It wasn’t over for Waltin and Liela just yet. They didn’t find out what caused the fire – or why. But they did find out the family had to moved back to the mother’s home planet of Haggim.

Waltin and Liela landed on Haggim two weeks ago. And it had taken them that long to find who they were looking for. But they finally found them. The only problem was when the approached the house they were fired at. They ducked behind the SpaceCar just in time.

“Why are you trying to kill us?” Waltin shouted a little to be heard.

“Because I recognize that SpaceCar.” The voice belonged to Tiva - the mother. “It belonged to my real father.”

Waltin kept his voice low so only Liela could hear him. “I don’t have a brother. I’ve got a sister. Who wants me dead.”

“My father didn’t want two kids at once - especially when one was female. So he sold me and used the Units to buy that SpaceCar. I know that he’s dead. I’ve been watching him ever since I became an adult. And I found out about him – and you.”
