The well meaning natures of two people approaching a new relationship together.
The Turtle and the Hare

A madman and the Lady so fair,
Reminds me of the Turtle and Hare.
One so quick and not nearly pure.
One so steady and not so sure.

So the boy meets the girl,
And his life becomes a whirl.
His days have been steady and true,
But his years of love so sadly few.

The days of knowing
Have left him owing.
Only to wonder at this stage,
How to present this humble page.

Holding back or push on through?
Seem the things he once knew.
But much like a running rabbit,
Life alone is a simple habit.

Trust me to be tried and true,
I promise never to get over on you.
Oh, wise and pretty little Turtle,
Believe the dream will not curdle!

No time to lose! No days to waste!
Longing again for one last taste!
Afraid to push, not willing to pull.
He just offers her a heart that's full.

Silly little rabbit, silly little man,
Can only be, I am what I am.
Wishes to be stronger and easy,
Never become harder or sleazy.

Quick little rabbit learned to shed his shell
From living through a life full of hell.
Wise and Pretty Little Turtle sees afar.
Fears rabbits only chase a shiny star.

Turtles, so sure and steady, just step by step.
Rabbits run in circles, yet long to be swept.
So she sits and smiles, that pretty little Turtle
And thinks, he seems a sweet little Erklce.
