A little girl lost in the woods is found by a frost giant who saves her life. |
Lost in the woods a little girl began to cry, As thousands of snowflakes drifted down from the sky. Deep in a wooded forest during a wintry afternoon A frost giant happened to be wandering by And overheard her cry. He chose to see what the noise was about. He lumbered her way lacking grace With large hands, he cradled her face. Her big watery eyes alight with innocence He wrapped her in a warm embrace And carried her away to a safe place To protect her from dangers unseen. With his powers, he grew her ice flowers. Days and weeks grew from hours. Their love for each other grew. He cared for her, Protected her, Kept her from the cold. Together they would laugh and play. The girl loved him in her own way. He was hers and she was his. Then there came a day When she could no longer stay, But not of her own choosing. One night the snow and ice grew thicker; They were deep into winter. The little girl grew sick; And then she grew sicker. The frost giant wanted to save her, But he didn't know how. When she died The frost giant cried, He made her an icy bed surrounded by frozen flowers, He created an ice crystal rose. Laid it by her nose. And so she slept forever on his frozen bed. She warmed his heart. Her short presence tore his life apart. The light has gone out. This little girl taught him humanity. Without her, he is left to insanity. Forever left without. |
