My life should be like a video game
When I'm sick all I'd have to do
Is eat green mushroom or take a potion
And I'd be healed
When my family is lost on the road
All I'd have to do
Is tell the GPS
Our last checkpoint and we're returned
I should have cool weapons to fight off attackers
I should get a cool sidekick like
Luigi and Tails
(I'm sorry Navi, but you're way
Too annoying to make my list)
I should be able to fast forward through a school work day
Like in Sims
And come back with a sudden promotion
With a $100 raise
And get a little cheat where
I don't have to pay bills
Of course, that would also mean I'd have
To speak gibberish
And get into a fiddled fight with the devil at some point
But who cares!?
If something goes wrong during my day
All I'd have to do is press and instant replay button
And I could start over
But my life isn't a video game
There is no 1-ups
No potions
No cheats
No instant replays
There is just me
Sitting here
Playing video games
Wishing my life were
Like a video game.
