Word lace lines the wall.
A twisted string of
words, wrought into a web,
multicolored and luminous
floating, free-form before me,
a lattice, a structure as sound
as the ancient craft that creates it.
Fractures fill my view
places my pen was imperfect
as I knit notions into intricacy.
I feel I am all flaw.
But I know I am not—
by twisting tangles into treasures,
by tying in new tints
when my words run dry—
I turn disasters into design elements
and missteps into mastery.
Who can find them now?
My words are a web so
filled with fissures
that an absent hole would
destroy the whole.
