Poem about being addicted to someone
Addicted

I was sitting at a corner café
Enjoying a refreshing drink
Feeling drained by the sizzling midday sun
Relaxing and peaceful
A perfect blue sky
Birds singing cheerfully
Only one other person here
You
A man drinking figo alone
You.
Who are you?
I just have to know

Your stare captures me
Your eyes so alluring
Dark, sexy and mysterious
My hands start to shake
In an instant I flush
I feel strangely odd
You smile
Just smile
I can tell you want me too
And I want you too
Oh god I want you

I can’t contain my excitement
My body temperature rises
I am staring at you with pure desire
A need
Your smile my first fix
I need more
That’s when it started
That was the day
I became addicted to you

We start a conversation
You change seats to sit with me
We feel the passion building
With every word spoken
The silent words in your eyes
Oh my God
Transfixed I move closer
Two fingers touch as we reach for the ashtray
It’s too late to stop it now
Your smile… my fix
Your softly spoken words…. my fix
Your eyes…. my fix

The wanting and the hunger
I see it in your eyes
Behind them spells danger
Of which kind I am unaware
I should walk away but I’m paralysed
The power is too strong
I am addicted to your smile
Addicted to your eyes and words
Addicted to your soul
I am under the most powerful spell
I can’t leave
The attraction too strong

I see the desolation behind your eyes
A tragic story untold
In a life you don’t feel you belong
An outsider, a loner, troubled
As the time goes on we become closer
Learn more about each other every day
Walks along the beach on a sunny day
Breakfast in bed
Laughing like children
Splashing each other in the dark blue ocean
At peace with ourselves
Being us

You’re a drug I crave and yearn for
Our time apart a wrench
I need you, your body
I want to touch you
Feel your skin on mine
I want you intimately, silently parting my legs
Our bodies moving together
In synchronised harmony
I crave to hear your voice
To hear you tell me “I love you”
With a soft and gentle kiss
At times with so much passion
I cannot live without your lips
I thirst for your mind
The knowledge you hold
Your complicated mind never stops
The smile on your face
As we kiss goodnight
A million words can’t describe

I adore you with my every being
I need you like no one before
We share our life together
Apart there would be no me
I live for our happy moments
The laughter that you bring
From the moment that our eyes met
On that warm and sunny day
I knew I would be
Addicted to you
