If death was a fruit, on the vine, to be eaten.

The fruit
A simple truth
Tempted you’ll be
Reasonable
It will all seem
You’re hungry
And it is food
Easy prey
Ripe for the picking
Just there waiting
Calling out to you
Take me as yours
Consume all that I am
Savor every delicious bite
Eat until you are overstuffed
Until it aches to move
Only then will I act
Only then will my plan
Become brutally clear
I am ripe
Soon I’ll spoil
My sweetest skin
Hides the truth
Of my bitter taste
Inside me is the end
Within me is poison
Death upon the vine
I’ve been here for years
Growing out of view
No one knew
No one except for you
The fruit
A simple truth
Tempted you’ll be
Reasonable
It will all seem
You’re hungry
And I am sustenance
In your gut
Again I’ll blossom
A bloom of death
A flower of the end
Down you’ll go
You won’t have time
To save yourself
From ingestion
To a horrific death
In mere seconds
In your gut
I’ll further stew
Then I’ll take root
Your decomposed body
Will become fertilizer
Fostering another generation
Of such refined deliciousness
Death upon the vine
It always is and has been
Just a matter of time
Something such as me
Cannot be refused
By someone like you…
