LET ME DOWN

We met for the first time in the Fall,
it wasn't long before I got his call.
I fell in love with my soul and heart,
never thinking that we would part.

We danced, we laughed, we cried,
we lived through that bumpy ride.
Winter came, with the bitter cold,
yet the good times never got old.

Spring came early to us that year,
he turned away, perhaps in fear.
Commitment wasn't in his plan,
he let me down easy - and ran.

So let me down, I will survive.
at least I know I'm still alive!
Memories are all I have today,
at times there is no other way.
