The strips of cloth had been burned. I knew Rand would be incensed. The golden objects had been secreted, as well.
"Is it true, about the Nile?" I asked, as we stepped through the crack in the wall. I gasped as I saw the papyrus boat docked there at the river's edge. Kai gave me a momentary glance of sadness, before choking me with his hands. The last thing I heard was him saying,
"You are a dirt digger. You would never be acceptable as a pharaoh's wife."
