Could I decide if I had to, if I was given a choice that allowed me to believe. |
-Illumination- by Keaton Foster Darkness Then light Illumination I see it Thus I believe it As much as I The man that is me Can believe anything The sky Has opened The sun Has spoken The clouds Have moved Clarity Must be truth God The spirit The Holiest Ghost Has come down From Heaven Upon my stoop He now stands With his hand Outreached He speaks to me His lips don’t move But in my mind His words ring out Son of no one Man of nothing I’ve come Made myself Identifiable to you And you alone I would like you As one of my flock A chosen child Of my holiest light Come back with me Back to the sky Back beyond All scope and time Come with me And be free This is your chance Your one certainty Illumination There will never be Another like this Pondering As I often do Wisely I think About my reply So long That all of my life Seems to slip on by What should I do What should it be Is there an answer Other than yes or no Is there something else Something less dire And more inspired What could I say To the creator And destructor of us all Most of all me Illumination God waits The equivalent Of just a second Within All of his existence If anything He is patient With light In my heart I am ready To properly reply Father of all but I Master from above God of every sky I am not ready to die I won’t accept your offer Not because I don’t believe in it But because presently I have no need for it… Illumination Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2015. |
