My Tribute to Mr. Spock, for the Power Reviewers Group contest |
While this is not a traditional limerick, it is written in a limerick style. Sort of. Capt. Kirk & Spock I once knew a man named Spock, But a human he was not. Was Vulcan for sure, Not 100%; impure. But alongside Kirk he fought. Many a battle did they fight, Through many days and nights. Romulans, Cardassian’s or Borgs, Many were put in a morgue. While Kirk and Spock were alright. The Enterprise was their ship, So fast, it gave enemies the slip. Warp speed? No problem! It was really awesome. Exploring on many trips. To go where no man had gone before. Was their mission, like days of yore. With Doc McCoy and Eng. Scott, Sulu, Uhura and Chekov, It was a show I really adored. But alas, all good things come to an end, Sadly Spock met his, to my chagrin. Leonard Nimoy has passed, He’s with his maker at last. He will always be, Capt. James Kirk's’ friend. Jim Dorrell 4/28/15 There are a couple of references to characters, and movies here. My favorite is the quote from the end of a movie. At the end of Star Trek II - The Wrath Of Khan, Spock said, "I have been, and always shall be, your friend." |
