Poem about flowers given to me by my fiance


It was worth its
every moment of being plucked,
for I loved it so much more;
softest pink
ruffled just so,
and chosen so tenderly by your loving hand.

The others stand tall, but garish and rude
stamens demanding and green leaves cold.

The knotted twig has character all its own,
endearing, this wild branch,
delicate and lovely, it is so much more
touching to me than those bold florist blooms.
