A young couple opens the door to their new house
Two souls watched as a young lady and man,
First entered the old house each room to scan,
He called her Charlotte and she called him Dan,
They dearly loved the expansive floor plan.

Returning, the couple did in fact own,
The deed to the old house they'd call their home,
But the fore tenants would soon make it known,
They'd not be treated as a stepping stone.

The light of day slowly turned dark and cool,
The rain and lightning sounded threats cruel,
As if God and Nature locked in a duel,
Disregard would label a brave man fool.

Poor Charlotte and Dan held each other tight,
Primal fear told them something wasn't right,
Cries for mercy were heard all through the night,
But evil never quits an unfair fight.

Wraith-like fingers reached, deep into their souls,
Felt like mice and bugs crawled inside their clothes,
Though vague, they'd hear frightening chant-like prose,
Charlotte cried, "Why us?" Dan answered, "God knows!"

Soon as those words left Dan's trembling lips,
Reality tore like a canvas rips,
Exposing brilliance blinding every glimpse,
Surrounding the form of a man's eclipse.

"Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
With his arms raised high the spirits obeyed,
Fresh was the air that rushed in from the glade,
Quick to their knees the pair earnestly prayed.

"We thank you, Father, who saved us from sin,
By giving your Son, your most beloved kin,
For the Holy Spirit under our skin,
To guide and protect us so all may go in."
