Young Perry Mason has a case of his own about something he knows about very well.
Perry was at his couch his hair in a disheveled manner as he read a paper from a huge stack across from me lying on the couch beside him resting my eyes.

"Agnes," Perry said, "Take a look at this."

"Give me a sec Perry," I said and propped up leaning on his arm reading the paper.

"Oh my..." I said, "The old man killed his wife because she was complaining about suffering. Why would anyone do that?"

"A man that needs help. His wife of 50 years was deathly sick and it was worse yesterday." Perry explained.

"He killed her yesterday?" I asked shocked.

"Yes." Perry said yawning and I leaned my head against his shoulder.

"Perry..I should be getting.." I said when I fell asleep, very tired from staying up with him again. Perry looked over and he kissed my forehead. This was the third time I had fallen asleep at Perry's.

"Alrighty, I'm gonna put you to bed Princess." Perry said picking me up and carried me to  his bedroom in one of his robes and my hair in a low ponytail that was falling out. Perry closed the bedroom door behind himself and went back to his couch and continued to read the case overviews and reports.

I got up to go to the bathroom when I noticed the door was closed so I opened it and there was Perry still reading but on the second paper in the stack when I smiled.

"Perry," I said, "your going to ruin your eyes if you keep that up."

He laughed and I grinned leaning in the doorway.

"Now," Perry said looking at me as I looked up, "I would hate to not be able to see your pretty face, Princess."

I laughed a bit. "Now, that would be a sorry sight huh, Perr?" I asked him and he grinned.

"Yes a slightly unfortunate one." He said quietly when we kissed.

I sighed hitting the side of the wall remembering something.

"What?" Perry asked.

"My cousins going to have my head because I didn't come home on time." I said and he grinned.

"I'll take care of it for you." Perry replied.

"When I go home?" I said and he nodded.

"Uh-huh." Perry said, "Sasha is going to have to wait."

"Are you positive?" I asked Perry.

"Very positive Princess." Perry said grinning.

"Mmm.." I said smiling, "sounds lovely."

"Perry??" I asked beside him when we were reading more of the papers with me reading the fifth paper while he read the fourth.

"Hmm?" Perry asked as I put the paper down.

"What would you do if someone asked you to end their suffering?" I asked him shyly.

"Well, for one, I wouldn't choke them, I would find some other means of comforting them." Perry said, "Why you ask?"

"Well..." I said, "I...I..Oh you know what im just going to come right out with it, I love you Perry mason,and...and I never told you I truly love you."

Perry smiled putting his hand on mine.

"And its not for money or nice clothes but for you." I said when he was smiling even more.

"I know." Perry said, "I knew all along, it wasn't for any of the fancy items Agnes."

"Oh," I said laughing blushing, "Good. I thought you didn't."

"What was the question about suffering for?" Perry asked me.

"It kinda helped me bring up what I wanted to say to you. Because well..I worry about you." I admitted and he nodded.

"Ah I see.." Perry replied.

"Well," I said getting up with my purse and my cocktail dress drew his attention.

"I should be getting home Perry so you can get ready for tomorrow."

He looked up at me half smiling. "I'll take you home." He said and got up putting on his dress jacket and hat following behind me as I got into my coat and walked out with him to his car.

I was sitting in his car as he stopped in front of the driveway when I looked at it the front lights on. I gripped my purse tightly and then looked at Perry.

"Hey, I'll see you tomorrow okay?" Perry told me and I nodded when he leaned over to kiss me. I put my arms around his neck hugging him after the kiss.

"Good luck. I'll see you in court." I whispered and got out as he watched me walk up to the house and go in. Once inside I turned off the front lights and he drove off. I sighed going upstairs closing my door and turning on the light and I got into my sleeping gown then I climbed out onto the fire escape on my balcony sitting against the wall hugging my knees to my chest staring at the spot by the side walk where Perry had the car sitting before he left. I closed my eyes as the wind blew a breeze, I touched my shoulder where Perry had his hand, I yawned pulling out pencil and paper sketching using a flashlight as the light. I was coloring in the shadows and his eyes while I listened to nature all around me. After awhile I got tired so I got up and went to bed closing the window locking the latch and I had my sketch on my beside table with the name written across the bottom in italic styled lettering with a heart at the end. I turned out the light and went to sleep wearing his favorite necklace I owned.

In the morning I was still asleep when my legal guardian, my cousin Sasha Monnett came in to open the curtains and saw I had left the flashlight on the fire escape and then she went over to the side of my bed picking up the sketch I did.

"Perry Mason." She read the name at the bottom aloud and scowled. She put the sketch pad back down and proceeded to wake me up.

"Perry, no. Perry no.." I moaned in my sleep when she pulled back my covers and I suddenly sat up. I looked at my alarm clock and hurried to get dressed as she chased me around complaining. I fixed my hair running to grab my purse and I got my sketch book and pencils with the sharpener and a pen, permanent marker to do my finishing touches,I hurried downstairs as she chased me again.

"You will not do such a thing and go out with that brute young lady he's no good!" Sasha shouted but she was wrong.

"Your wrong cousin, he isn't a brute and you cant tell me who I can go with and who I cant go with your not my mother. Goodbye cousin." I said and hurried outside to my car driving off.

I arrived at the courthouse in time to catch Perry on the way inside.

"Perr!" I called and he turned around once he saw it was me he smiled.

"Perr." I said and he noticed I was wearing full uniform. Inside the court I walked the walk and talked the talk of a lawyer as if I was one also. I noticed as soon as he walked in the building his ego was nothing more than just a feeling and I represented his alter ego in the court room. Paul Drake joined us and his secretary Della Street whom was my best friend back in high school and college. I scowled at the sight of District Attorney Hamilton Burger as we waited for the doors to open. Della looked at me confused.

"What's the deal?" Della asked.

"That's Hamilton Burger Dell." I said watching Perry who was beside me.

"Oh and what's that got to do with your scowling and his attitude?" Della asked.

"I don't like him." I said when Drake noticed us talking.

"Noone does." Drake answered.

"Pardon?" I asked turning around looking around Della.

"Agnes this is Detective Paul Drake. He works in conjunction with me. Drake this is Angela Detterman, my longtime girlfriend." Perry said as I did a courtesy nod and he nodded back.

"Nice to meet you Ms. Detterman. I see Perry has very nice taste, made a very fine choice." Drake said knowing me from college. I was a cop but right now I was assisting Perry in his case orders from Mac. As the doors opened I took off my hat and then put my hair in a neat ponytail.
