Are you
Absolute
And true
This shit
These words
Minutia
Written
Meant
Understood
To be absurd
A poke
To the ribs
A swift kick
In the head
Down
Like a bag of bricks
Never
Pseudo friend
A masochist
Always in training
Will you be close
Never on par
But you will be
Returning for more
And more
As much
As I can deal
You can take in
As much
As I can muster
You can place asunder
Down into your gut
Deeper still
Into your skull
I know that it hurts
I know the pain
Overwhelms
I’ve seen it
I recognize it
I’ve been there
Many times before
A few times more
We can relate
Without never
Standing face
We can connect
Across all distance
The sucker
Are you
Is what I say
What I seem to convey
But let me just say
That a sucker
Is what you are
Least of all
You are a genius
A sort of
Freethinking realist
Who takes what I say
And twist it in ways
That I never meant
You find meaning
Where originally
There was nothing
But attic
Nothing
But rancid diatribe
Meant to fill
Both page and line
You take this madness
Consecrated in my sadness
And you make it
Something unintended
Something borrowed
Not stolen
Wisdom confronted
Living exonerated
As least as far as you
Yourself is concerned
My story is different
As it was meant
The end for me
Will not be glorious
But ideally tragic
You have no problem
Not one at all
With taking my pain
My shame
The hateful ways
In which I confess
All that I cannot escape
And turning it inward
And making it yours
The sucker are you
Something I often say
Nothing of course
Could be
Further from the truth
I am certain
Without question
That you know that
That you understand that…
