Modern and twisted beauty and the beast poem. |
Beauty and the Beast It's the classic tale Of the girl Lost afraid unloved and guarded And then there's the boy Who holds her tight, keeps her safe, and kisses her gently. And she trusts him and loves him And he loves her back with pure passion. But this story has a twist. She's not a normal girl. This girl is guarded because of what she hides. She hides the scars. The scars that litter her body. The ones she received And the ones she gave herself. This girl is unloved because of the fear people feel at the scars. The fear of the harm she could do Or the trouble she could cause. This girl is lost because of all the rejection. She now has nowhere to go. She no longer believes there is a place to go. This girl is afraid because of the abuse that gave her half of the scars on her body. And the boy. He is lair. He will hold her Keep her And kiss her. But soon he will beat her. Because he is a monster. He does not see the scars. Maybe that would change the beatings to hugs. But she will not tell. He lied. He lied to this beautiful girl Then he broke her again. Just as she was beginning to pick herself up. But now it's possible she will never get back up at all. After all it is a long drop off that bridge. She knows that. But how can someone so beautiful Be so broken That they want so badly To take that leap? Go and ask the monsters that made her that way. Maybe you'll figure it out then. Maybe. --AS |
