Awareness for suicide, bullying, sexual assault, depression, and the LQTBQ community.
It’s unhinging how the universal symbols of weeping,
are extended nights and lack of sleeping.
It’s nerve racking that the people pointing and teasing,
were suppose to be our friends, how deceiving.
I’m at a loss of words by how many people can go about their lives,
while the bigotry they stand for causes death rates to rise.

Now look at our world.
It’s such a beautiful creation,
but all the hate in between us,
became an infestation.
We walk, talk, and go about our day,
as if it should be okay to allow people in harms way.

We close our minds and open our mouths.
Our eyes stay shut and refuse to see what’s around.
We’re careless and ignorant so instead;
tragedies need to occur for us to recognize a pattern on this grid.

You’d rather conform and lay low,
than stand up for what you believe in but if that’s the case then,
why on earth were we even created?
We’re here to build a future, progress, and live together but it’s like the bond we were meant to have, has been
severed.

People don’t seem to care,
which is a shame.
This leaves victims and harmed ones thinking there’s no one left but them to blame.
We live in a society where if it doesn’t affect you,
look away but in doing so,
we lead those in need of help astray.

As a selfish species we take, take, and take but as you’re taking just remember,
you’re making a mistake.
So far all I’ve said to,
are just stories on the news but continue this trend,
and it could happen to a friend, family, or you.

All that I ask is to restore hope,
prevent a tragedy and for those who couldn’t,
help them cope.
Believe in yourself, help someone, and find your purpose.
You shouldn’t have to be paid to prevent a funeral service.
