The Story of the Tears

salty tears
lined in a row
streaming down my face
having no where to go

one by one they flow
like a sad, bitter stream
I reassure myself
this is nothing but a dream

each of the tears
have a story to tell
God keeps them in a bottle
on a shelf in heaven's cell

they cry out in agony, narrating
the tale of my broken heart
pleading to die, I tell myself
this is the very worst part.
