Emily was a judge, that is until, she met a venom. Can she save her life... and the world.
Emily took in the situation before her. Her antique, oaken desk was piled high with paper work, and her quill had chosen that exact moment to snap, at the same time as her ink pot had tipped over, covering her work in a black stain. And she needed the paper work done in an hour for a murder case, which she was positively dreading. She let out a long exasperated sigh. This is what happens when you get paid the big bucks, she thought. Then she shook her head to dispel the thoughts. there was no point in dreading the inevitable, her friend... and adviser, Melody, had told her on more than a couple of occasions. It was then that she heard the fateful knocking.

Chapter one

"Enter!" came Emily's voice from inside the room. She watched the brass handle turn, and the creak of the door being opened. Many a person had queried her on why she left her door creaking like that, and she always brushed off the question. The real reason was that if they couldn't enter the room silently, they couldn't assassinate her silently. Many people had tried to assassinate Emily... and yet here she was. But as the group of armed men entered the room, she queried how long that would last.

The 9 armed men, entered, taking in their adversary. She appeared to be a young girl of perhaps 15, armed with 2 daggers and wearing a simple leather jacket, with fading jeans, and stylized curly, auburn hair. All in all, easy, wealthy prey. Or so they thought.

The 2 men hid behind a chest of draws, listening to the commotion of armed men. More than 5 Jayden thought. "Give us all your money, or we'll split your skull." One of the men said .
"You can try!" shouted a surprisingly young female voice. Jayden shifted slightly, so he could see what was going on around him. He looked across the office and saw Ethan do the same. A young girl sprang into view, slitting one mans throat, then driving her dagger into anothers chest. He was dead before he hit the ground. It was then that Ethan rushed into view, his sword impaling 2 men at once, then his ghostly, glowing weapon swung backwards and forwards, killing 3 men before they could blink But then a gleaming sword end protruded through his back, and Ethan fell, never to rise again... for now.

Chapter 2

Jayden, infuriated by his friends death, rose, and struck out at the first man like a striking serpent. His dagger flashed, back and forth, side to side. man after man died, before he was left with gang leader. The leader was wary of Jaydens skill, but he was still a very good fighter, the one of 7 surviving gladiators from the destruction of the gladiatorial arena. All the arena animals had been let out on a fighting crew of 50, very few survived. Then a fire swept through, killing hundreds of nobles and thousands of slaves. It destroyed the arena.

Each man circled the other warily, waiting for opportunity to strike. Damn he's fast! thought Jayden. The other man was dancing on the balls of his feet, faking strike after strike waiting for Jayden to take the bait. But his next strike was not a bait, and Jayden was forced to block it with his dagger. But then the man fell over with a moan, a gasp of air, futile though it was. Then the man died, his final breath escaping is bleeding lungs, and Jayden saw the young girl standing in front of him.
