Those of us through so much are qualified to see what must be done to change our ways. |
-The Rose Garden of Truth- by Keaton Foster Circular stones Overgrown Insects in the billions Weeds strangling everything Nothing truly seems As if it will make it There is just too much Of every bad thing And barely nothing Of the good that comes From so very deep within In the center of such chaos In the eye of the storm that is us There remains a pristine fountain The only thing untouched By all of humankind Not yet molested by our ways The last beautiful thing of creation God’s only way of telling us That it’s never too late to change And That there is always another way The water is absent of color Clear to the deepest depths Feeding all that grows Far beyond any control Keeping everything alive At least for the time being But as seen with great clarity A warning floods the scenery At our present rate And due to our inducing ways There will be nothing left There will be only the end It’s always been us or them The weeds The insects Humankind Presently we are losing There is little that we are doing To alter our path and direction People can be heard saying It’s far too late to make a difference God above has forsaken us The devil is as always amongst us Lies spoken by fools in the midst The rose garden of truth A metaphorical state aloof A place of peace meant to be seen By those few so privileged By those few so tortured They must make all others see Prophets and heretics in kind God’s holiest unchosen Rather brutally created The ones that all will believe Because of what they have seen No one would question the sincerity In which they describe both The horrors and beauties of our species They have been through hell They have screamed at heaven They above all of us know the difference Their voices are temples unto themselves Places built of painful experience They know how we must change How we must again become a flower Instead of a weed upon all humankind Instead of an insect feasting upon life The rose garden of truth A place they see in their dreams Their metaphorical state of being That they alone are capable of Their gift will be the catalyst To all of human salvation They need your help to see They need you to understand That from what they know And what they see Within their hearts and minds It’s not yet too late to change It’s not too late to turn all things ugly And make them the beautiful surroundings Truly meant for all of humankind… The Rose Garden of Truth Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2014. |
