Searching
Wondering
Distance
Space
Time
And reference
I’m here
You are there
Where
Exactly
Not so clear
I’ll guess
Just to impress
I’ll be wrong
What you expect
The odds
Always stacked
We could never
Not once
Meet
We are
You and I
Strangers
Defined
By distance
Space
And time
The location
Of our souls
While alive
Moot at best
The placement
Only paramount
Upon our demise
Heaven or hell
Shared or split
Suffering
For some
Peace
For all else
I’m not sure
But
I bet that you are
You and God
Are pseudo friends
Making fun
Of distance
Things like this
Gets me by
Affords be a laugh
Something funny
In my life
Of brutal calamity
I write mine out
What do you do
How do you deal
Or don’t you
I do what I can
Because I must
What about you
What do you do
And must you do it
Oh would I live
To have a choice
But
There is none
In this place
Distant
From your space
I linger and waste
Expressing myself
Feebly reinventing
Everything
That I have become
Comfortable with
I use to be a madman
A certifiable lunatic
Now I am a poet
An artist of sorts
If this was
Two hundred years back
I would be a pillar
Of high society
But right now
In this present how
I am just
Some stranger
A dude
With some skills
Some rhymes
And lots of time
It doesn’t pay
To be like me
But oddly
I must admit
At times
I feel richer than shit
I feel as if
I could buy the world
With words
With what
I feel I have to say
I’m loaded
Cha-ching I tell ya
Making fun
Of distance
This
Is just another poem
I way to reach out
To you
There
Maybe near
Maybe far
Who cares
I like to think
That distance is naught
That we are closer
Together
Than ever before
Because of these
Omnipresent words
Crafted right here
By me
Via my mind
Inspired
By my very soul
A doorway to
What is to come next
Get ready for it
Just
More and more
Of this…
