-Lunchable- by Keaton Foster Square meat Round cheese Incased No space to waste Each compartment Shaped by food Thickness and depth Proximity Always via relatability Lunchable Usually containing Processed meat And angled cheese Crackers Meant to be stackers Proper separation Must be checked Nothing can touch One will infect the next One will spoil every other The desert Is meant to be last But I always eat it first Damn those rules I ain’t playing no game I paid for this shit Lunchable An all in one meal Meant for growing boys Satisfying to this old man Reminding me of a time Way way back when My darling mother Use to pack me a lunch She use to write The sweetest of notes On the bag I love you my dearest son Do your family proud Packed with kindness Sealed with a kiss Lunchable Such eternal plastic Will be wasted I recycle nothing And waste everything There my friend is some Food for real thought Ridiculous I know An absurd poem About compartmentalized Meat and cheese products Packaged for ease Meant to be eaten by kids Taken to school Packed on trips Lunchable To me it’s not just a meal It’s a missing part of my youth Sure I can still buy them Certainly I can still consume them They are not children exclusive If you have a saw buck Easily they’ll sell you A half a dozen of them Lunchable Food meant for kids Packaged for ease of use Functional forms of meat and cheese Everything that a growing boy And a grown man really needs… Lunchable Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2014. |
