-We- by Keaton Foster We You Me Us Them Onward Outward Within Without Madness Doubt What’s this about Life Ours Yours Mine Everything And nothing It hurts It’s sad How come Why not God above Won’t tell The devil below Won’t show In between We You Me Us Remain Doing our parts Making mistakes Hurting each other Helping just one And maybe another The hypocrisy Only bested by Such debauchery The right hand Is always first To slap the left But the left Increasingly made impotent Will never strike back We Simple as can be As easy as a read As relatable as any dream Upon a similar plane Many of us stand Looking down Upon ourselves Hurting who we are By refusing our gifts By not knowing Why we are here We You Me Us Are like lambs Standing with lions The slaughter The killing The moral break Will soon begin Further we will go Much deeper Our hearts will fall Down so low Far beyond Once there None of us Not me Not you Not we Nor us Will ever again rise Fates hand will be dealt God’s cruel smile shown There is still time But how much Is not known Not disclosed We must change We You and I Us Again Must find a way… We Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2014. |
