Down
Around
Underneath
Not on top
Where I’ve gone
Where I’ll remain
I’m here
You’re not
Where are you
I’ll never again know
Except that it’s not here
I wish it could change
But such a thing cannot
Fates cruel forget me not
This is the way of wicked things
It was I alone that killed myself
It was I alone that took my life
I held the gun with great ease
At that darkest moment in time
I was very much unafraid
Consequence never filled my chest
What could be next
Never once flooded my mind
I only wished for an escape
For a relief from the pain
It has always hurt
More than anyone could know
It has always been unbearable
I made it for as long as I could
I’d like to think you understood
But I’m sure that you
Understood least of all
Down
Not above ground
No longer alive
Something else
Something terrifying
In both scope and detail
A realm of loneliness
Greater than when I was alive
A wasteland of nothingness
Stretching on for ages
There
In the unobtainable distance
Is a light
No matter how fast
Or slow I walk
I never seem to get closer
I will never know what’s beyond
All that I’ll ever understand
Is the distance remaining
In this wasteland of nothing
Down
Without a sound
Deceased
Rancid meat
Refuse for the worms
Spoilage unconcerned
Many eons from now
All that will be left is dust
Thus
All that will be left
Is my perpetually lost soul…
