GHOSTS

They had been walking for who knows how long, after have fallen on an isle. At the beginning, all the people who were going to take a private helicopter to go to what they believed it was going to be their best experience, a trip to the Cajas Park, a place of Ecuador. Never would they have imagined what was going to happen during the trip. They were Dr. Richard Cardenas, Dr. France Marin and the anthropologist Dr. Washington Cobeña and his assistant Ms. Pamela Fergusson who was qualified to be the helicopter's pilot too. They had started a study about a special kind of flower that only exists in a small place near the Cajas Park. A flower able to live almost in the crudest climate, but after several minutes flying, they were unable to know where they were exactly. Furthermore, the weather was not helping them, at contrary to that; a lot dark cloud and mist were making them to lose the exact direction. Making them come down as faster as could be possible on a strange isle. Letting as result, during the landing a broken helicopter.

However, after having fallen when they got up, they believed they were over a very near place of their origin country. In spite at all, as soon as they could, they started to make smoke trying to call the attention of every ship that could have passing. But, as the time was passing so fast and the afternoon was falling, they started to build a refuge, a place where to pass the night. In fact, they had to build two refuges, one for men and another for women. It was midnight when suddenly a deep sound started to goes through the refuges´ walls. They just believed it was the sound of the wolfs´ howl, and continued sleeping. At morning when Dr. Richard Cardenas was looking for a place to urine, he found some bears´ footprints that probably were very hungry. After that when the rest had woken they decided to go to get food... while were looking for, one of them, Dr. Washington Cobeña found some animals´ bones, that were killed in a very bad manner. Animals that did not have any chance to escape, so as he thought that they could be the next, he started to run forward the camp. As a result, he waited to be with the rest to tell them about what he had found, but the rest did not stay waiting the end of the story and started to pick up all their things to move. That place had been a very dangerous area due to wild animals.

After have had to walk for a long period of time, and believing they had left the danger behind them, as were tired they decided to take a rest under the trees to protect from the warm sunlight. At noon they were hungry and only had the water of the coconuts to quench thirst, but it was not enough to pass their appetite. Finally the two women observing that none of the men were able to do something to survive, resolved go to fish and catch some fish to calm their hunger. However, it was not so easy to do; at least it was no easier than they had seen sometime by TV. The waves did not give them opportunity to dare to fish. So, the men started to do whatever they could to help them, and brought many pieces of wood to invent a trap to catch fish; they did a basket and let it drop and started to fish. They started to eat at the middle afternoon, and then shared between each one a duty, Dr. Cardenas had to go for the firewood; meanwhile the rest had to start to arm an impervious refuge due to the rain and the mosquitoes. So, they passed their second day on an unknown isle, waiting for some help by the side of any ship, spite Dr. Marin was starting to be less entrusted.

At the beginning of the next day, been more risky, they decided to build a wooden boat, so they started to pick the necessary material. Therefore, while they were looking for what they needed, they noticed that they were not alone. There were a lot of vestiges indicating that a cannibal culture was over there. They found several kind of manufactured tools made with animals´ bones. It made felt them very nervous, and anxious for go away. So, working in double turns, they achieved to build the boat, a non sophisticate boat, but one which could help them to get away.

Meanwhile was going to be completed the manufacture of the ship, one night each one of them forgot at least for a short period their peregrination on that isle. So, while the night was accompanying them with its stars, they started to tell about their sentimental, political, and professional life. Each one of them had found with themselves staying in that hard situation. Mss. Fergusson told them that her dream always had been to work with Mr. Cobeña due to his great achievements as researcher about the true descent of the African cultural heritage. At that moment an interrupt by the Dr. Marin side, explained that neither exist the causality, and death. That all what they are seeing in that right time, were due to the reincarnation. She believed they are souls. But a perfect moment gave place among them, spite the danger, a sweet sound of instrumental music which came from the interior of the jungle was being considered by those intellectual people. They were not able to think that the same people who were able to kill maybe to their own family could create so sweet melodies. So, during that night they were saved.

Had passed a long period of time since the last time, when they felt able to go away from that isle. Furthermore, The Sea did not leave them to leave its coast. Unfortunately the boat they built was rotting, and the sea´s waves were hitting hard each time. Hopefully! The cannibal tribe seemed to disown about them. On another hand, maybe all about the cannibalism theory was product of the afraid. However, whatever it had been, had passed long time already. And, they had learned to live with their fears, with their sins, with their memories. Being ghost lost of their dreams.
