I love to sit and watch the clouds. An Open Expressions Entry
Cloud Stories

I love to sit gazing without
and watch the world go by.
I see the clouds; they seem to sprout
dark wings up in the sky.

I watch as wind reshapes each one
in gentle fantasy.
A dragon forms that blocks the sun;
its face peers down at me.

The dragon slowly fades away;
a giant takes his place.
His golden goose has gone astray.
He looks for Jack to chase.

The clouds reform. A witches' hat
with a high pointed crown
and there's her friend, that fiendish cat,
that made poor Snow White frown.

The clouds begin to rearrange;
I see a rabbit flee
as Alice starts to act so strange.
She needs a spot of tea.

There sits a castle like Hogwarts.
I feel the magic flow.
A crowd is gathered to watch sports
with Quidditch as their show.

So many stories the clouds spawn,
of "cabbages and kings"1.
I watch as each soars to life on
imagination's wings.
