Fanfiction mystery loosely based on World of Warcraft.
The sun had just started to set it first rays against the dew covered ground of Eversong Forest. With the morning still in the beginning of its bloom the forest sat in a sublime silence, beautiful in its most primal of forms. The birds starting their morning calls, looking for their long lost friends and lovers. It was a sight to behold for the most experienced of nature lovers. But, there was one disturbance. The pounding of metal on metal, the whirling and buzzing of various gadgets, oh yes, there was one unnatural thing out this morning. A home of one Magus Velmaris Sunrider. His house was of typical Blood Elven design, but there was the addition that the source of noise came from. A shop he had added on himself, a place for him to tinker, and make the coin that funded his expansive manor and 'hobby'. The large doors to this workshop stood open, letting out a soft glow of unnatural blue and green lights swirling out as the sounds continued. Suddenly, it all stopped, and from under the large metal helicopter the owner and creator of such noise pushed himself up. Today, he was dressed in a set of simple black form fitting breeches, solid leather boots capping his feet. He was bared at the chest, his physical form toned, and well develeoped. Muscle covered his lean, and exposed torso, with streaks of something black, tarish, most likely oil that he had touched from under the mechanical vessel. His face was angular, sharp with the slightest resmemlance to that of a hawk. His dark, and long hair was pulled back, to keep it out of his way while he worked. Capping off the look, sat a pair of goggles on his eyes, darkly tinted with several other little devices hanging on it, moddulars for his vision,
based on his need. Slowly he set the dark metal hammer in his hand down, letting it clang to the floor as a slow sigh left his lips. A look of thought, and annoyance flowed over his features as he stared at the device.

Glancing at the small slip of paper in her hand reading the directions over once more, Honeey huffed and puffed as she pushed her bike in the direction of an engineer's shop she had been told might help her. There she was rounding a corner when a big sputter and puff of smoke, metal clanging against metal, bringing her  bike to a crawling stop just outside Falconwing Square. An apprentice to Nerisen, Silvemoon's rogue trainer had seen her kicking her bike on the roadside and offered to help. When the two couldn't seem to get it running he gave her the name of someone he had heard of through a friend. Trudging up the lane her blonde hair tied in a loose pony tail. The heat began to take it's toll on her being dressed in her biker gear, which consisted of a tank top, silk leggings and soft thigh high boots, all in black. She'd tossed the matching jacket into her pack about an hour ago when the sun's heat became too much. She'd been all set for riding with the wind in her hair but not for a walk in the roadside with the morning sun bearing down on her.

The tall elf stepped back away from his latest annoyance to grab the waterskin and the closest rag he spotted. Having been working for several hours, the man had already worked himself to a sweat. Slowly, he looked out into the forest, and down the pathway to his home, and shop. The glint of metal in the sunlight caught his eye first. A flick of his wrist, and a quick grab he got rid of the waterskin, and grabed himself a towel.  He began to clean the oil and soot from his chest and face as he walked down the road to meet the oncoming person in the distance.

As Honeey looked up and saw the man walking towards her her breath caught. She was not expecting such a prime example of a what a male should look like, least of all a mage as she had been told this engineer was. "didn't they tend to prance around in dresses?" she thought to herself.
Taking in a steadying breath she leaned into her bike and gave it another hard push forward. Calling out to the man as he walked closer. Her hand covered her brow and shaded the sun as she peered down the road. "Velmaris I hope?"

He continued to walk towards the woman, not yet answering until he was close enough to speak without shouting. He flipped the towel over his shoulder as he stepped up to the woman and the bike. Without a word he started to push it for himself. "The one and only, I hope.. I see you've got a bit of an issue here. Let me take this.." He sets off, pushing the bike up, with a bit more ease than she would have had. He side glances, giving her the once over, not hiding the fact that he was examining the woman from head to toe, and back again. A little grin forms on his lips as they near the front of the workshop. "Besides it not running, any clue what happened to it?"

"Ummmm nope, just stopped working." It had some light flashing a few days back but that went away and all was fine until today." Her hands stayed on the bike as if trying to help push. There was no need though the bike seemed in very capable hands. Standing upright she fell into step behind the man as they continued up to the shop entrance. "before we get too far into the problem with my bike I need to discuss funds with you first. I'm pretty low on those right now. I can make payment arrangements or work for you if you need any help but I have no cash on me today. Honestly I wasn't even expexting you to be here. I was told you may be out of town."

He simply raises an eyebrow at the mention of the money but he continues to push the bike up. He gives a small grunt before the bike makes the slight speedbump at the front of his shop before wheeling it in in an open spot next to the large helicopter. "I do a lot of traveling, but then again, it only takes a couple of seconds for me to appear back here." He offers a small grin before hitting the kick stand out, letting the bike rest on its own. He steps away, letting his back face her as he steps up to a worktable, idly moving some tools around as he begins to speak. "As for payment, I can't give you any kind of estimate until I look at it, but my inspection fee, runs about fifty gold pieces. Not a huge sum.. Do you have at least that?"

"Well..." Wincing as she kind of shrugs and then slowly shakes her head. "I really don't have anything right now. I was on my way to meet up with my apprentice in Silvermoon to check on this weeks autctions. I had planned to get more gold from the bank but then this happened" Leaning against the counter her arms crossed in front of herself. "I can wait a day or two before you look at it. If you need money up front. It won't take me long to get my hands on some gold. I was just coming back from a friends wedding and used up all my pocket change to keept the party going for them." Flashing him a sweet smile and leaning forward a bit more. "I'm deffinately good for it though. I'm  never without gold for long."

He watches her, rather intently behind the dark shading of his goggles. His eyes dipped down, eyeing her closely as he leaned forward. A light laugh left his lips, almost mocking. "Well, we'll put it this way. I'll look at your bike, and see how much it is going to cost to fix it. Then, we can decide which way we're going to handle this. Sound like a plan?" He tore his eyes away from her to gather up a few things off the table behind him before stepping around, standing next to her with his hip against the table, arms crossed over his chest. "We can find something to work out the cost, I'm sure."

Pushing herself up and away from the counter she turned facing him. "Whew, I'm glad. I really hated the thought of trudging back into town in these to gather some cash." she crossed her leg showing off the 6 inch heels on her boots. "Not exactly great for walking." She went to her bike and grabbed a side bag from it and tossed it over her shoulder. "Is there somewhere I can use to freshen up"

He tilts his head, eyeing the heels for a moment, but more importantly the curve of her legs. "Not the best choice of foot wear I've ever seen." He gives a small grin as he reaches over her shoulder, pointing to a door in the back of his shop. "Through that door, running water brought up from a well. A little invention I helped develop. Press the buttons to start the flow, red for warm blue for cold" He gives her another slow and wicked grin before stepping past her, towards her bike, only to crouch down near it, starting his work of inspecting the damage.

"Well isn't that handy" muttering to herself and rolling her eyes as she saunters back through the shop towards the door. Floppng her bag on the floor as she pushed the button for cold water. She much preferred a running stream to these indoor contraptions. Always a lover of nature she'd rather be out in the open, listening to the birds sing as she bathed. Tearing herself from her daydreaming she grabbed a cloth dropping it into a basin as she stripped her top off. Picking up the rag again she let the cool water drip from it as she squeezed it out over her chest. Rivulets of water ran down hugging her curves. She wet the rag again and began wiping her face. Closing her eyes as the water cooled her skin. Little drops beading and falling from her nipples into the basin below. She let out a contented sigh. nature or not, cool water was a welcome thing after pushing her bike all the way here. She pulled her boots off and wiggled her toes, now free of their tight confines. Donning her top again she pushed the door open noticing it was slightly ajar. After quickly dismissing any ideas about the loose door she walked back towards Velmaris "find out anything yet?"

He slowly stood up from the bike, a frown touching his lips. The frown wasn't from the bike but at the briefest of looks he had seen through the slightly open bathroom door, just the small look at her smooth skin as she had poored the water over herself. He shakes his head slightly, grinning as he turns around to face her. "Well, from what I can tell.. You've got quite a mess on your hands." He shifts slightly, attempting to walk towards the table, to keep it between himself and her, an attempt to hide how his pants had tented. The form fitting clothes did little to hide the fruits of the vision he had just seen. Slowly he places his palms onto the table, hoping she hadn't been too observant on his walk over to the table. "Your transmission is completely done. And it looks like, you've ignored any kind of maintence on the thing for quite some time.."

"Maintenance?" She looked at him blankly, her emerald green eyes catching his gaze. Their color fairly common amongst blood elves but hers had a sparkle of gold in them when the light caught them just right. "I...put in gas and oil when I need to!" Her brows furrowed as she thought hard about what else she could have done. Seeming completely oblivious to the affect she was having on him. "It's gonna cost a bundle isn't it?"

"The transmission alone is going to cost. Depending on what I need to bore out in the engine, or replace as I find things." He licks his lips a moment as he furrows his brow, thinking. "I have the parts here to fix most of it, perhaps in a few days time.. But as for the cost. You're looking at easily fifteen hundred, to two thousand gold in parts, and then of course there is the cost of labor.." He trails off as he looks from the bike to her with an arched brow while reaching up to pull the goggles free of his head. His own fel green eyes take her in, unhindered by the goggles any longer. "With your auctions, can you pay that?"

An easy smile crossed her lips as she flipped her hand in the air "Oh yeah I've got that in the bank easy. Just... not on me. But if it's gonna take a couple days, I can get a ride into town, get the gold and swing back here. Like I said I just don't have any on me if you needed payment up-front" She pulled the ribbon from her hair and let it hang free. Crossing one bare foot over the other she leaned down on the counter again, head in her hand. "So, couple days huh? Guess I can grab a room at the inn and wait."

"I need a downpayment, or something to ensure I don't invest all the time, just to have you ditch out on me once I get the parts in." He pauses before he gives a grin. "Actually, You could stay here in my house. I have the room, and I hardly use it anyhow" He watches her for a moment with a tilt of his head. "That solves both problems. You can't ditch out on me, and you get a place to stay. How does that sound, hmm?"

Eyeing him cautiously "Well...you were recommended to me so I suppose you are on the up & up" Her face scrunched as she thinks about the offer. "I'll still not have access to the funds until I can get back in town, but I'm sure we can work that out when the time comes." She extends a small well manicured hand..."It's a deal I guess."

He takes the time to wipe his hands clean on the towel before reaching out, to grip her hand lightly sealing the deal. "Sounds like a plan then" A small grin comes to his lips. "Let me show you around then. As for the up-front inspection fee, I'm sure I can find some little chore for you to make it even." He turns with a small laugh, heading towards a door to his home
