A really twisted, back and forth poem about ideas & questions that burn through my mind.

Constantly this
What
Should I digress
I’d be quite remiss
Fearing nothing as of yet
I will advance a step
Always just a bit closer
While never knowing
The distance that remains
Some would say madness
Often I offer up my assumptions
Because assumption is king
In this crooked kingdom of men
Knowing and understanding that
Is all that can be for certain
A secret friends
Such certainty terrifies me to no end
Maddening is this man
The one living within
What a monster
I must appear
Reality always unclear
Constantly this
What
I don’t pretend to know
Understanding one’s role
A lifetime affliction
An unholy dereliction
Duties must be kept
Not so blatantly ignored
I would go to hell
If there was such a place
I would go to Heaven
If heathens were allowed
There not
Constantly this
What
I refuse the idea
Broken away from the norm
I won’t accept what you see
The seeing eye
Cannot be trusted
Never does my mind wait
Never does my heart break
Endless is every damn pace
Tragic is everything connected
Wasteful are my endeavors
I do not know love
I can only pretend as if I do
I won’t embrace faith
But that being said
I see absolute darkness as a waste
Constantly this
What
All that I know for sure
All that I can understand
I do wish
There was another plan
A way to live beyond this
But there is not
Nor will there ever be
Simple does it seem
Impossible will it always be
Constantly this
What
Speak the question
And I’ll clarify the answer
Not the one you wish
But the one that I possess…
