Apocolypse

How did we get here, I thought, as I looked down from the helicopter at the dull world. Then looking up at Famous, my cousin. He wore a USMC Infantry jacket on with his AK-12 suppressed in his hand locked and loaded. He always wanted to be in the infantry. Well I guess now he kind of is. Then I study incede and Matt. Incede wore a Gillie Suit with his Intervention suppressed. He was always the kind of stealthy sniper. Matt was the so called annoying one in the group. But he did do his part of the job and is a big help. He wore a USMC Operator suit with the Vector suppressed. Then there was me. I had the USR suppressed and the Devgru Dominator outfit on. Our job was to put a bomb on these alien like creatures fort and bring back human life on earth.
We finally get to this town that is at the edge of the enemy’s fort. The helicopter drops us off at a secluded spot and we get out. I look down the road and see a big alien like barricade that’s stopping us to get to the other side. There is about five of them.
“What is it”? Famous said.
“I don’t know but we need to destroy it...” I said.
“Matt, throw a grenade at it”. Famous said quietly.
Matt took a grenade out of his backpack and through it at the big object. It sucked it in... We stood there in amaze. About five seconds later we hear a slight bang noise and then see these creatures coming out of the barricade and roaring. It seems like it’s their home... Not a barricade.
“Keep calm and stay low”! Incede said.
That’s exactly what we did. All four of us crawled behind this bush and looked out to see what was happening.
“Incede, go up on that hill to be our lookout, make that sniper handy will you.” I said.
We were just watching their every move. After about thirty minutes the aliens calmed down and fixed there house of some sort. I signal Incede to snipe the two that were close to us silently and quickly while we get the rest of them. When there was no more alien life to be seen we lowered our guns and examined the big house. It looked like a big lump on the ground. It was purplish in color and had some kind of leathery feeling, with yellow glowing ooze coming out of it.
“They came out like an ant farm”! Matt said.
“Yeah… well let’s keep moving.” I said. We’re going to have to do this four more times… I thought. signal my team to the next alien like house. I told Incede to go back up on that hill to snipe them down. Then I told Matt and Famous to get up close and spray fire with their assault rifles. I went up on top of the roof of a house and set up my sniper too. When we were all ready Famous threw a Nova Gas in the hole of the house. Aliens poured out of the house in frenzy. I and Incede picked off about fifteen. Famous and Matt sprayed about twenty. When it was all over I smiled to myself. We are looking like an elite team out here. I jumped down from the rooftop and ran to the group.
We decided to take out the next three houses as soon as possible and then we will set up camp behind the big hill. So that’s what we did, and when we were done with the last one the sun was just about down. We ran behind the hill that Incede was on and found a cave in the hill. It was dark but I managed to light a flare so we could see for a bit. We unpacked all of our stuff and famous began making a fire. While he was working on that I told him that I’m going to find some game. I went back outside and it was pitch black out, so I put my thermal scope on my silenced sniper. I went on a ledge and looked down the scope of my sniper. I couldn’t see anything to shoot. I thought for a moment. Then I put my sniper on my back and climbed to the top of the hill. I set up my sniper on the ground and look through it again. What I saw was overwhelming…
I look out of my scope in amaze. I just sit there for about ten minutes staring at the ground. The place we need to get to is crowded by hundreds upon hundreds of aliens. I climb back down the hill and walk into the cave. Famous had the fire going. Incede and Matt were making the beds. I told them what I saw. They had blank stares when I told them.
"We just need to fight through it in the morning”. I said. Then I walked to my bed and saw a mouse running around. I trapped it and said “here is our dinner”. Then I went to bed.
The next morning I woke up and didn’t see anyone. I looked outside the cave and heard a feint noise. I thought it was coming from on top of the hill so I checked. I saw the whole team scoping out the aliens. I had a little smirk.
“So what’s the plan”? I said lying down beside everyone.
“Well we are going in at night so you and Incede could see the aliens better with the thermal sight, but you two will stay here and watch our backs with those snipers, while Me and Matt are going to run in and shoot them then set the bomb at ten minutes so it will give us some time to run back to the helicopter.” Famous said.
Sounds like a good plan, I thought. Later that day while we were getting ready to go set out I made a smoke bomb for Famous and Matt. So when they rush into the fort they can throw this bomb so the aliens would be blind. I gave it to Matt and told him how to use it. When it turned dark we got all ready and set out.
It was pitch black out. We all had our night vision goggles on so we had the advantage. I and Incede went on top of the hill, Famous and Mat slowly went closer to the territory as planned. When Famous and Matt got close, Matt threw the bomb I made at the fort and rushed in. Famous went left and matt went in right. I was picking them off around Famous and Incede was snipping them around Matt. I saw one come up the back of famous but I had to reload, but I remembered that I forgot the ammo in the cave. I panicked. I yelled over to Incede to help me out but he had to protect matt from the three that was coming up behind him. I took out my pistol. It was the only thing I could think of. I was about four hundred meters away shooting a six foot alien. I aimed down the sights and closed my eyes; I took a deep breath in. I heard a loud scream. I shot…
I open my eyes and see Famous laying there on the ground with a dead alien beside him. I grab my sniper; I put it on my back and told Incede to watch my six. I just ran as fast as I could down to Famous. When I got there I picked him up onto my shoulders and put my pistol in my hand. I yelled to Matt and told him to do it on his own for now. Then I ran back to the hill Incede was on. I hope Matt can do this, I thought while running. I set Famous down by Incede and ran back down to get more ammo out of the cave. I was totally exhausted. When I got back up I saw Famous on the ground shooting with Incede. I put my ammo in my gun and looked down the sights to Matt. He was planting the bomb now. I felt relieved. Until I saw aliens surrounding him from each side.
I screamed “shoot”! It was too late. He set the bomb then took out a grenade and looked at us, then pulled it… we all scream no! I felt tears coming. We all sat there for a good five minutes sobbing.
‘We need to get out before it’s too late’ I said. I called up the helicopter to take us home. When we all got in the helicopter we looked back to the place Matt died. It was silence the rest of the way home.
