Shall I inform the lot of you I have full knowledge of the frog? Amphibian of Anura* beginning as a pollywog. I dare not be so arrogant lest I should spawn anathema.² I study frogs within the States as well as those in Canada. (My book a fine two volume set because the species is diverse. The world contains a lot of frogs-- one time the Pharaoh had it worse.³) My day begins before the dawn and sometimes then I tend to gloat. So often, though, it is delayed because a frog is in my throat. But after coffee and wheat toast, I’m off to work within my den. I check the latest science news in order to hop up my ken. (I fight my insecurity among the ease of my abode. Yet when I tour the countryside, I always brake for frog and toad.) Sometimes I’ll pen an article that’s published in, The Frog Today. I hear back from the readership; “It’s riveting,” they sometimes say. My afternoon is set aside for research and a bit of hype. I speak of frogs all ‘round the world by telephone and even Skype. The sun goes down and so I stroll down to the pond where I feel glad.
