In life some of us find that one thing right that will make all of the bad worth it.

A child
A baby
Someday
Could be a lady
A little girl
Given by God
A gift
His shot
And mine
At redemption
Her name
Insignificant
Her role
Paramount
What I needed
Nothing before
Everything now
Desperate change
A reason
Not to be betrayed
She depends on me
I’m her dad
Her king of the castle
Her knight in shining armor
Her everything right
And can I just say
Can I just confess
What a hell of a thing
So much power
Corruptible to some
I could make her
Mold her
Create a new world
With each lesson
Or I could do nothing
Not a damn thing
I could just late fate
And or faith decide
Taking any and all control
I could let the cards fall
I could let the sun shine
Or darkness come to reside
It could all be up to me
Or none of it could be
She is alive
Newly born
Naked
Nubile
Free of sin
God’s precious gift
For a man like me
What an idea
Such a twisted concept
If there ever was one
After all that he has done
Or should I say
Failed so miserably to do
When I cried out
Upon my soapbox I stood
And said God above
Please here my voice
Understand that I am suffering
That I am living a hell
Unlike any ever lived
I know
I am sure
Right about now
That you are saying
Expressing
Life is damn tuff
Impossible for so many of us
Why should be any different
We have all experience hell
Or at least a version of it
You would be justified
But of course so am I
God has given me a gift
Another chance at life
With her
My precious little girl
The one right thing
That I could have ever hoped
Before my eyes she will grow
Before my eyes she will become
More than I could have ever wished
She is
And will always be
My one last lie
Who spoke it
God or me
Is of course
And will always be
Irrelevant…
