Someone told me the other day that we, humans just don't care. |
-We Don’t Care- by Keaton Foster We don’t care Standing here Naked and exposed Knowing everything Of our life’s role We will never refuse any of it Even at the price of our doom God has blessed us Of course such a blessing Has been hidden from us We don’t know We are confused kids In a proverbial candy store We can look all that we want But we have no teeth to eat There are other shoppers Humans unburdened They have vicious sets of chompers Consuming everything in sight Their guts, quickly become overstuffed When such gluttony is done They will indeed have One hell of a stomach ache Being so inclined We will offer first aid Nursing them back to health A good deed to go unnoticed Most of all by every one of them Persistence is like a straight stick Time and again it must be bent Force applied is the only known variable That can change something unchangeable But fear nothing of such risk The stick will always return To the trueness of its state We don’t care An illusion set to fear While in fact We care above and beyond all Knowing the path and walking it Are two completely different concepts Every truth will stand like a mountain Every lie will sink like an ocean Between heaven and hell Is and has only ever been About one thing Our existence We don’t care Something said to sound tough When in fact we are weakest of all So weak that in time even those Stronger than we could ever hope to be Turn to us for some sort of help We teach them humility We teach them causality We teach them that there is a difference But such lessons are often wasted We know it and again We don’t care… We Don’t Care Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2013 |
