Memories cast into a few lines of retrospection. |
A song to remember I was a soul long lost in the illusion of life I lent my ears to what the wind had to murmur Was it noise? Or just a sound? It was a pleasant song; A song to remember As I recited the song in my own tongue, A new meaning was borne by the words it entailed, A meaning that was beautiful indeed A meaning that led me by hand I was a fool to have tried to seek its meaning, For It was blown away from me by the wind of time Such a song was meant for the artistic minds I am but an ignorant savage to even give it a meaning of my own. Yet I put all the blame on my fate. For all I deserved to know was that it is a beautiful song, That filled my heart and flamed my mind And expect but nothing more. Though disappointed but not disheartened I walked down the lane chosen by my will, For I had the song already engraved in my heart And It breathed life into my soul, It created a warrior out of me who was a vagrant once. With an armour as strong as my makers' will And a sword that would shame steel I started my quest with a song to remember As I made my way through the valley of death, Leading my legion, drawing blood With an unmatched courage and untethered heart, All I had was my song rhyming in the depths of my heart Standing at the top of the cliff, at the helm of my conquest, I cast my eyes on the path ahead that I have to myself set upon. But I, the warrior have not forgotten the journey so far For that song ruminates with in me at each step. As I saddle up to embrace my destiny, I take a moment to thank the poet- Almighty, the creator of such a marvel; and hopes That it keeps on flaming inside me. Will I ever know, if the song would ever realize what it meant to me? How much I held it close to my heart? For that song was life itself; I gallop towards the unknown lands, With nothing but a prayer in my heart. May that beautiful song find the deserving ears to fall upon, For it’s a song to remember. -Σπάρτακος |
