A sorcerer searches for immortality
In the dead of night,
the sorcerer stood.
With a crack of thunder,
the search had ended.

For so long he sought,
secrets of the mighty tree.
Eying the ancient spender,
he felt fear and joy combined.

Dreams of crimson and dominance,
filled his power hungry soul.
In the darkness, pure disdain
for humankind was the stimulus.

Palms held out flat, he called
to the magic within, craving it all:
The immortal life the vast Elder had
held in its core since the dawn of time.

The skies lit up,
sparks flying wild and free.
Chaos commenced, lightening
and storm clouds conjured.

The sorcerer had created enchantments
known only by the greatest in the land.
His soul would live on through
all nature’s trials and woes.

Only a storm of great wonder,
Unlocks the tree’s hidden secrets.
Only a sorcerer of great foolishness,
Unlocks the curse of immortality.
