A twisted poem about a journey out to sea from which there will be no return. |
-To The Sea- by Keaton Foster To the sea That is where I’ll be I’ve been there before At the shore Just this once more Out into the deep Foolishly I will swim Way beyond my head Far past any return Towards an endless horizon That I won’t no part of Once I reach exhaustion Self-preservation will kick in And I will halfheartedly Attempt to turn back Knowing all too well That I will not make it Somewhere between my choices And a decision not to further act I will sink like a heavy stone Down into forever’s depth Down into the nothingness Of every impossible dream I know that there are many Terrifying creatures down there And that I will be just one more No one will ever find me Not only because no one Would ever consider looking But because the depths To which I am prepared to go Will make such a thing pointless I have made many bad choices But this is certainly not one To the sea That is where I’ll be That is where I will remain Forever free from all that I’ve done In the depths of nothing I will always be kept… To The Sea Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2013 |
