Time Amorphous

Time is the force that rules my life,
A companion and cherished friend
Eternally, it embraces me,
But will leave me alone in the end.

Time is the music I cannot hear,
The pulse that moves my feet.
It’s silent notes play the melody,
And I dance to its rhythmic beat.

Time is the specter that haunts my world,
It taunts me with moans in the air.
I hear it echoing in the wind,
When its breath whips through my hair.

Time is the camera; my life in the lens,
Its focus determines my fate.
It filters the light of my memories,
And records the choices I make.

Time is the shadow I cannot escape,
As I stand in the light of the sun.
My intentions distort and change the shape,
Time will end what I have begun.

Time is the currency we jealously guard,
It is bartered, loaned, and returned.
The more we save, the less we have,
What we give is not spent, but earned.

Time is a cell with gilded bars
It confines and imprisons me.
I know it cannot keep me caged
Time will one day set me free.
