Flowers by Fall

The Sunshine Queen came early
riding high on the southern wind
snow scouts had spotted her entourage
coming 'round the late winter bend

The Ice King shivered and groaned
he'd had it with her melting presence
the basalt bandits had made themselves known
inserting warmth in the ethereal essence

But the King had a plan
to teach her a lesson
quick frozen the tears that she'd cry
frost guards had moved
the ice makers to May
with snow through the 4th of July
