A query letter on my new sci-fi book- The rock of fire, the first of many in a series. |
Dear Sir/ Madam, The title for my book is ‘The Rock of Fire’ and it is a science fiction, it is about four magical, elemental rocks of water, fire, earth and air are scattered into the world when a fallen Elder of the city of Drydane, Lazar, defeats the other Elders in his hunger for the rock of fire. The city is left protected by five powerful teenagers and the rock of fire is found by a non- magic human- Jack and his Grandson- John on a Cornwall Beach. They are taken to the city and help the teenagers when Lazar builds an army of tortured, mutated people and a terrible war commences over Drydane. Synopsis In the proud days of the magnificent city of Drydane four elders; Menea, Hendra, Dimitri and Lazar protect the four elemental rocks of fire, earth, air and water. When Lazar caves into his hunger for the rock of fire he turns on the other Elders and they banish him from the city. Years later he returns and attacks the Elders a second time, the defence mechanism kicks in and the rocks scatter themselves into the world. The Elders are murdered but the citizens are kept hidden by the Elders Grandchildren, five powerful teenagers and a child. Shortly after the attack Jack Kay is walking his dog along a cornwall beach and finds the rock of fire. He takes it home where his Grandson, John picks it up, it transfers the power of fire to him. Three of the teenagers; Josie, Daniel and Andy find them and transport Jack and John with the rock to Drydane where they begin to build their lives, protect the citizens and John begins a romance with Josie. Lazar, still hungry for the rock sends his hunchbacked, second-hand man Mika to build an army of tortured and mutated women, men and children. When the army is big enough Lazar leads a war over Drydane which results in him and John in a stand-off with all of the teenagers defeated. John gives his life and kills Lazar using the rock but he is brought back to life by the youngest grandchild, Edith and they continue to protect the city and the rock of fire. There is an opportunity for this storyline to be a series of books with sequels on the other rocks and possibly a prequel as well as a line of movies. Finally, I would like to thank you for considering my book. Kind regards, Chelsey Cartwright |
