A poem that I loved writing about visiting a fortune teller. |
-Fortune Teller- by Keaton Foster ** Image ID #1917887 Unavailable ** Fortune teller Darkness speller Terror of deserving truth Speak your mind Empty the sublime Dump realty by the load Pile it up to my neck Give me what it is that I wish I found my way here Back to you Because I couldn’t Find my way nowhere So dreadfully I seek Another spoke of your wisdom And your allegiance to nothing Others Not me Have called you A pseudo helter skelter A master of everything dammed The king of every non-believer Such badges of honor Such ridiculous monikers Lend belief to your ability And your continuity So before you I stand A humble Broken shell of a man My desperation sings Upon silent wind No one will care but you But not because you wish But because you must honor The sacred contract implied I know that such caring Constitutes a payment And I will gladly pay Any price demanded As long as you speak As long as you tell me What I need to hear Knowing everything Will be required No detail Can be overlooked No image mistook I cannot take anymore On this world That rest upon my head I must know the future Even if there is a chance That I have no part in it Dare not lie My posthumous friend With such empty soulless eyes The price for your skill The right for such a thrill Is a part of The very life that I wish To know everything about Even if it’s not What I aspect Tell me of the heck Hold nothing back Earn each dollar spent Every piece of my soul That willingly I relent Take as much as you require For yourself Keep it close I can take what comes next As long as I know As long as your words Are mired in truth Express your visions Hold nothing in peril Bend no kept secrets Break no certain reality Hit me headlong I can take what you say I can deal with the pain I above all know that Such a price for knowing Will be worth every ounce If such a thing as a soul Could be weighed Then each pound That you require Will be yours And if such a sum means That I would never get The chance to live through The foretold things to come Fortune teller I accept So be it… Fortune Teller Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2013 |
