Poem about a day in the life of me |
Morning The sun shines brightly Warming my skin through the window Spirits are high The warmth spreads all the way to my toes Walking in the sun Enjoying the bright light Having a good day Afternoon The wind begins to blow Leaves only swirl at first Dancing against the breeze Then trees quiver The sun dips behind a building The sky darkening Then the clouds come Light and fluffy disappear Making room for the thick and grey Plants double over Giving way to the greater force in charge Even darker still Evening The chill sets in The sun having gone to bed The unseen clouds build up Against the black sky Hiding the moon and the stars The first drop is silent Unheard against the window Followed by ore and more Falling from the clouds The wind rustles again Sending the drops sideways They pick up speed Hitting in large groups against the pane Night Chill turns to cold Extra layers become necessary The heater is switched on More drops cascade from the sky Each faster than the previous My mood sinks The sun is long gone Alone Suddenly the drops lessen Seconds pass with fewer and fewer Single drops visible against the glass Less and less Until none fall at all The clouds dissipate Giving way to the twinkling lights And the crescent moon A smile takes hold of my face The storm has passed Though its dark, everything is good Sleep takes hold Over night the water evaporates Revealing dry sidewalks The clouds long having disappeared The sun rights everything come morning A new day dawns Morning |
