Who We Are

Writers block had me at its mercy this month. I had no idea what to write about. So I did what any usual high school student would do. I googled it. I came upon some articles with different ideas and the ones that caught my attentions had the titles such as: Is There Life After Death, Will the World End in 2012? As I saw those topics I realized I already knew the answer to those questions. We don’t even realize it, but as Seventh-Day Adventists, we have much more knowledge than the world itself. Those are real questions that people our age are asking. As I read on in the article about death, I realized how the author didn’t even have any proof of what she was talking about. Honestly, I’m glad that we know what happens to someone after they die. I would not like the fact that a ‘dead’ person could look down on me while I am still living on this earth. It would not be heaven to that person either, because they could see how we are dealing with their death and how sad we were because they had died. When I read some of the article about the world ending in 2012, it actually said that according to the Bible, the world would end in 2012. It quoted Revelation 9:18 where it says “by these three plagues a third of the mankind was killed…” and the author claimed that the plague was H1N1 or the Swine Flu. We have the knowledge to know that this is not true. We are blessed to know the truth and understand it. We might not know things about math and science or history and English, but one thing we do know is the truth. We have this knowledge and we should share it with the world, because obviously they are somewhat confused. That’s who we are and we need to embrace that fact and not be ashamed to stand out in the world.
