A dark poem based on a dream about the end of our kind coming right at us. |
-A Shadow Upon The World- by Keaton Foster Out there Amongst darkness declared Is an ever advancing shadow No light brings it into view The naked eye cannot see Refusal of the idea of its existence Makes everyone blind No one else but me knows Seeing with such clarity In a cesspool of absolutes Does that make me special Or just abundantly crazy Such an odd question of sanity Concerns me least of all Everything has its place With such regard I am not much different Specialties flood my head Aching from the overload Being who I’ve become Is what I want to be least of all But here I am A wolf in a world of lambs A dogma with no plan A sinner with his own crucifix Nailed right to his chest Driven into the depths Coming our way Dead on in a path set straight Is an apocalyptic plight That we all must face Screaming of vengeance Out there Where no one really cares In the darkness of forever Is the culmination of nothing Is an ever-expansive something A shadow upon the world That can never be removed A stain upon everyone’s whole Salvation will be a moot point God cannot save us from ourselves And a darkness undone I know that what I’m saying And what I’m conveying Sounds completely mad And quite terribly sad I wish it was all not so A shadow upon this world Is coming and I A man who sees with open eyes Just wanted to let you know Just wanted to warn you Heed all that I am saying quite well A shadow upon the world is falling… A Shadow Upon The World Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2013 |
