Where are my keys?

The hooks by my front door are empty,
my keys nowhere in sight:
Did I bring them in with me
when I came home last night?

I thought I had them in my hand
when I came into the house:
If I were my keys
where would I be?

Hanging beside my door
or inside my purse,
but that isn't where they are:
Could I have left them in my car?

My security screen is locked,
so the keys are in the house:
Were my keys stolen
by an alien, a ghost, or a mouse?

I look in the the refrigerator
and in the freezer, too;
then I look by my computer
and find them on the keyboard.
